Solace of the Soul
We all have those days when our hearts feel heavy & spirits stoop low 😔, well…. don’t worry 😎, this little blog post is here to your rescue by reminding you of something that will bring back hope, positivity & all things good in your darkest times & actually, always 😊 In’shaa’Allah.
A particular source of solace, peace ❤️ & a weapon that we all possess no matter what we are going through in our lives. From Adam, and Noah to Moses & Jesus, it’s what all our beloved prophets heavily relied upon, something so quintessential yet so effortless is nothing but Dua 🤲.
“And your Lord said: “Invoke Me [i.e. believe in My Oneness (Islamic Monotheism) and ask Me for anything] I will respond to your (invocation)”
– Ghaafir 40:60
The Noble Quran
Indeed, Allah, The Most Merciful loves to be asked. He is Al-Kareem, The Most Generous, Al-Razzaq – The Ever Providing, Al-Wahhab – The Bestower & much more so know that there is no one else who loves to give 🎁 as much as Allah ﷻ 👑 does.
Here’s a little heart-touching passage I came across ❤️ that also became the excerpt of this post 😁 …
Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find, knock and it will be opened unto you; everyone who asks will be given, everyone who seeks will find, and everyone who knocks will have it opened unto him. Allaah revealed to Moosa: Say to the believers: do not try to make Me hasten when you call upon Me, and do not think I am miserly. Do they not know that I hate the miser, so how could I be miserly, O Moosa? Do not think that I will not give you if you ask Me for great things, and do not feel too shy to ask Me for small things. Ask even for flour and food for your sheep, O Moosa. Do you not know that I have created the mustard seed and everything greater than it, and I have not created anything but I know that people need it, so whoever asks Me for something knowing that I am able to give and withhold, I will give him what he asks for and forgive him.
As His slaves 😊, we completely rely upon His immense mercy & graciousness 💖 in all matters & when I say “all matters”.. you know, how it’s a wonder 😎 that we’ve all come this far despite all the downhills in our lives. Think of the days we thought brought doom upon us, were the end of us.. yet we survived & are here. Well 😊… that’s His mercy ❤️, you see. Alhumdulilah!
So all we have to do is to ask Him for our needs 💬 & be sure that He will most certainly respond in the most handsome of manners 🎁. By asking 👑 Allah ﷻ we demonstrate our need of Him, The Supreme & this mere act is one of the most beloved 💕 acts in the sight of 👑 Allah ﷻ. And truly, it’s simple why 👑 Allah ﷻ loves to be asked so much.. the giver always loves to give & who can be a greater giver than 👑 Allah ﷻ? His bounties & generosity have no bounds therefore nothing is ever too great nor too small for Him to grant, SubhanAllah! 😊
The Prophet ﷺ 🌙 greatly emphasized & highlighted the virtues of Dua in many ahadiths . One such hadith being:
“There is nothing that is more noble in the sight of Allah than dua.”
[At-Tirmidhi]
There are numerous excellence & benefits of duas & so.. I’ve sprinkled some of them like confetti 🎉 below:
“For whoever the doors 🚪 of dua has been opened, means that all doors of mercy ❤️ has been opened for him. And nothing is more pleasing to Allah, than He be asked of things that are granted, than afiyah 🌹 (good health).”
[At-Tirmidhi]
“Nothing wards off predestination (Qadr) except dua, and nothing increases one’s lifespan except good deeds.”
[At-Tirmidhi]
“Dua is benefit to (matters) that have occurred, and that are yet to occur, so I advice you, O servants of Allah to make dua.”
[At-Tirmidhi]
It’s hardly surprising now that our righteous predecessors used to even ask 👑 Allah ﷻ for salt in their dough & food 🍲 for their animals 🍄.
Being completely & only dependent on 👑 Allah ﷻ has its own beauty & comes with its own perks 🎁. Such a believer who relies & depends on 👑 Allah ﷻ alone in every aspect is granted something really special 😍. Our beloved Prophet ﷺ 🌙 speaks about this in the following hadith:
“Whoever refrains from asking (of people), Allah will make him content, whoever seeks to be independent of means, Allah will make him independent, and whoever strives to be patient Allah will bestow patience upon him, and no one is ever given anything better and more abundant than patience.”
– Sahih Bukhari & Muslim
Having read this now 😎.. you know who to run to when you’re in a fix 😁 the next time.. Taking this hadith 📜 as our motivation ✔, let us keep reminding ourselves to not only ask 👑 Allah ﷻ but to only & only ask Him alone for all our needs, wants & desires, 😊 Bi’idhnillah because He indeed is sufficient for everyone & every matter 🌏.
Some simple sunnah etiquettes 📜 of asking duas that one can adhere to for best results, In’shaa’Allah, consist of 8 points & so I’ve decided to call these points 😎 the ‘Essential Eightiquettes‘ which are:
1. Praising Allah ﷻ & sending salutations upon His beloved ﷺ ❤️.
2. Raising one’s hands in the dua position 🤲.
3. Facing the Qibla 🕋.
4. Being in Wudu 💧.
5. To expect the best from Allah ﷻ 🎁.
6. To pray with humility & fear.
7. Repeat the dua 3 times 💬.
8. To start the dua with one’s self.
And.. here’s some icing on the cake with the best times to make duas
1. The last 3rd part of the night 🌚.
2. When the Adhaan is called 🗣.
3. Between Adhaan & Iqamah ↔️.
4. While in Sujood 🤲.
5. An hour on Friday ⏰.
6. After performing Wudhu 🚿.
7. Before drinking Zam Zam 🥛.
8. During Ramadan 🌟.
9. On the day of Arafah 🕋.
10. When visiting the sick 🤧.
11. During rainfall 🌧.
Rest all your affairs, worries & troubles in 👑 Allah ﷻ’s care 😊 by just making duas to Him. Sit back and ask Him for everything that your heart ♥️ desires with full faith & certainty of receiving all the good you seek and much more.. just pour your heart out to Him, and leave nothing 🤲. Some duas might be granted instantly & some may take days, months or at times even years, sometimes some may come true in a different & much better form than expected and some may be saved for the hereafter but always know this.. it is His promise that they will always be answered 😊 in the most amazing ways and when they do you’ll be overwhelmed by the sweetness of your answered duas & the fruit of your patience over them, 💖 leaving your heart full of gratitude & love for Allah ﷻ 👑.
I end this post with a lil prayer 🤲 for all of us 😊.. May we all receive all that we love ❤️ and seek in the ways that Allah loves the most for us.
Ameen
