Welcoming Ramadaan!
Alhumdulilah! The blessed month of Ramadaan is about to grace us all. The beautiful month of Quran, fasting, taraweeh, charity & Lailat-ul Qadr (The Night of Decree).
All Muslims around the globe eagerly await this month every year. None of us want to miss out on the extra blessings and rewards we can gain in this amazing month. A month that teaches us patience & makes us feel what the poor & needy go through when they don't have any food and encourages us to help them in so many ways.
The virtues of Ramadaan are so great that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said "When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained." (Sahih Al-Bukhari). The reward for doing acts of worship during this month sincerely is mentioned in another hadith in which the Prophet (p.b.u.h) said "Whoever established prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven; and whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven." (Sahih Bukhari)
We all prepare ourselves spiritually in different ways to embrace this wonderful month and so I got myself enrolled in the Ramadaan Retreat workshop at Al-Asr Foundation for the same purpose.
There is always something new to learn about our Deen and it is always beneficial to be reminded of all the great virtues, fiqh issues, do's & don'ts of Ramadaan, tips to become more productive, and know about all the good deeds that we can do to gain more reward before entering the month of Ramadaan so as to make it our best one yet, In'shaa'Allah.
A cute presentation of some good habits we can adapt in Ramadaan, In'shaa'Allah by Productive Muslim π
And don't forget to stock up the house with dates for Iftaar & sharing things with the neighbours, the orphans, the sick and the needy in your community too π¬, In'shaa'Allah
And if you are in the gulf, you might get such cute Ramadaan-themed merchandise that you can gift to family, friends and everyone around you, In'shaa'Allah. π
Hadiths that speak about the reward for fasting alone are enough to motivate one to grab opportunities of fasting for the sake of Allah, The Most High, and here are two of them:
Allah's Messenger (ο·Ί) said,
- "Allah said, 'All the deeds of Adam's sons (people) are for them, except fasting which is for Me, and I will give the reward for it.'" (Sahih Al-Bukhari)
SubhanAllah! The Most Gracious, Allah says that He Himself will give the reward for fasting & who else can give a better reward than Allah, The Most Beneficent!
- "By Him in Whose Hands my soul is' The unpleasant smell coming out from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the smell of musk. There are two pleasures for the fasting person, one at the time of breaking his fast, and the other at the time when he will meet his Lord; then he will be pleased because of his fasting." (Sahih Al-Bukhari)
Woah! Can't even imagine how great the pleasure will be when we meet our Lord, The Most Merciful β€ In'shaa'Allah
A tip: Have light and healthy meals during Ramadaan in order to be more energetic for doing extra acts of worship, In'shaa'Allah. And yup! Those are just fake fruits π.
I end this post with a dua for all Muslim brothers and sisters everywhere. May Allah, The Most Loving accept all the good deeds of the Ummah in this blessed month and reward us all abundantly for them as the bounty of Allah never decreases. May we reach and achieve many more fruitful Ramadaans in our lives. Ameen... <3
